Introduction To Kill a Mockingbird

To Kill a Mockingbird is a masterpiece written by Harper Lee. The novel was published in 1960 and became an instant hit. Since then, it has found inroads into schools, colleges, and libraries across the world.

The novel presents the story of Lee’s hometown, Monroeville in Alabama, her family members, neighbors, and the events that took place in her life in fiction. The novel also deals with the issues of race and racial prejudice as well as racial segregation in the American South during the Great Depression.

The narrator of the novel is the six-year-old girl, Scout, who lives with her brother and father in Maycomb.
