    Frank Torre spent seven seasons in the majors as a first baseman with the Milwaukee Braves and Philadelphia Phillies.

    He was known more for his defensive prowess at first base than his hitting, leading the National League twice in fielding but hitting only 13 career home runs. During his career he was often platooned with a right-handed hitter or was inserted in the late innings as a defensive replacement.
